Xbox has finally given us our first look at MachineGames’ Indiana Jones game, officially titled Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, as part of its first Developer Direct showcase of 2024.
A year after the first ever Developer Direct that revealed Hi-Fi Rush and showcased gameplay for Minecraft Legends, Forza Motorsport, and Redfall, Xbox has brought the format back to kick off 2024.
The gameplay reveal confirmed that it’ll be a first-person adventure game that seems to occasionally go into third-person for other segments like climbing. It was also revealed that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle takes place between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade.
The Indiana Jones game was originally revealed at the start of 2021 with a vague teaser. Since then, details about the game have mostly come from leaks and a few mentions by Xbox head Phil Spencer.
There has been ongoing debate about whether the game will be an Xbox exclusive. However, one of the most interesting details revealed about it is that it’s going to be a “genre mash-up” of sorts.
The “genre mash-up” detail is evident in the gameplay that was just revealed, indicating a unique gaming experience for players.
