The highly awaited reveal and release schedule for Assassin’s Creed Red, an action role-playing game by Ubisoft, has surfaced. The new AC title is rumored to be revealed in May, followed by a gameplay showcase in July, culminating in a November 2024 release.
According to a recent rumor circulating online, the next installment in the Assassin’s Creed series, Assassin’s Creed Red will be revealed in May 2024 and is slated for release towards the end of this year.
The source of this latest rumor is BunnyTheVillain, a participant in the Ubisoft Creators Program and a Twitter user. As per BunnyTheVillain, the reveal trailer for Assassin’s Creed Red will be released in May 2024, followed by a detailed gameplay reveal in July 2024 during a Ubisoft Forward event. Moreover, BunnyTheVillain has also pinpointed the November 2024 Assassin’s Creed Red release window. Though earlier credible insights pointed to a holiday 2024 release, we now have an exact timeframe. And while Bunny is not a stranger to leaks, it’s still best to approach this information with caution.
Other than Bunny, on ResetEra, a reputable forum, known insider Shinobi602 also talked about the leak, stating that things are “all very in flux right now.” He cautions against definitively committing to the provided details, mentioning uncertainty regarding both the reveal and marketing activities of Assassin’s Creed Red or its release window.
Adding to the intrigue, a Ubisoft executive on LinkedIn, Arisa Lagunzad, in reference to AC Red, boldly claims it will be the ‘biggest blockbuster of 2024.’ This marks the first instance of a Ubisoft representative confirming the Assassin’s Creed Red’s release within this year. While there’s room for the possibility of a mistake, it’s reasonable to expect someone in charge of Business Development & Brand Partnership to have accurate information about their flagship game’s release schedule.
Well, all these pieces seem to align pretty well and make logical sense, that the majority of the Assassin’s Creed games have been released inside the same window.
More than three years have passed since Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was released, and although most fans enjoyed AC Mirage last year, it wasn’t a mainline release. Hence, fans have high hopes for the next in the series – Assassin’s Creed Red. The upcoming release, currently only known by the codename Assassin’s Creed Red, is poised to return to Feudal Japan, marking a significant shift for fans of the series.
Other than the fact that the game would ultimately take franchise fans to feudal Japan, not much is known about it. However, Long-standing rumors suggest that the game will feature two playable characters, including a black samurai inspired by the historical figure Yasuke and a female ninja. Additionally, a known leaker and ResetEra forum member, John Harker, had previously mentioned that Assassin’s Creed Codename Red would “be the last of the Origins formula,” hinting at potential changes in the RPG elements seen in Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla.
However, none of these details are officially confirmed, other than the shift towards feudal Japan and a glimpse given by an extremely brief teaser trailer.
