Rumors are swirling in the gaming industry as insiders hint that Xbox will be venturing into the handheld gaming market, with a new handheld device.
Xbox fans have been wondering if the popular gaming organization is working on any new handheld product because of the recent expansion of the handheld gaming market and fresh speculations surrounding the creation of new handheld gaming devices. And it looks like that may be the case.
Following the latest PlayStation revelation, seasoned insider Jez Corden has now reacted to a tweet from fellow insider Tom Henderson, who was speculating that Xbox is probably also researching a handheld device. In response, Corden said, “They are.”
Since Corden has been an insider for a long time and has a solid track record, it is reasonable to assume that his claims are true. He did not provide any further information, but like the device that is said to be coming from PlayStation, the Xbox handheld device might not be launched for some time.
It will be fascinating to see if Xbox’s devices prioritize native game support or streaming. Given that the two speculated devices may not be produced for years, fans may find several attractive choices that are expected to arrive far sooner than the others.
Asus has announced that later in the year, a new handheld gaming system that will replace the ROG Ally will be released. On the other hand, PlayStation fans already have an interesting and reasonably priced choice thanks to the company’s 2023 release of the PlayStation Portal.
Overall, there are several different handheld gaming gadgets available for less than $75. These gadgets will obviously be far more constrained than their more expensive equivalents, but they can still be used to play vintage video games like contemporary Game Boys.
Well, not only the ones that are confirmed and exist, but we also have speculation surrounding PlayStation’s development of a new handheld gaming product. Recent murmurings within the gaming community suggest that PlayStation is in the early stages of crafting a non-streaming handheld gaming device. This device is rumored to natively support PlayStation 4 games, along with select PlayStation 5 titles that receive a special patch. However, the project is allegedly not yet greenlit for launch, with its APU (Accelerated Processing Unit) at least two years away from production.
However, whether Xbox’s rumored handheld device becomes a reality or not remains to be seen.
