A new listing on SteamDB suggests that Dragon’s Dogma 2 could get a demo soon, similar to other Capcom games.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is set to launch on March 22, 2024, and from what’s been revealed so far, it promises an exciting experience with a variety of classes, dynamic environments, and strategic gameplay features. And now, a new listing on SteamDB suggests that Dragon’s Dogma 2 could get a demo soon.
A listing for a certain Dragon’s Dogma 2 bundle can be found on SteamDB and it is categorized as “Free On Demand.” This has led to rumors that this could be a potential Dragon’s Dogma 2 demo.
Before a game’s formal release, Capcom often releases demos for their titles. Demos have been made available for nearly all of the big games, including Exoprimal and the remakes of the original Resident Evil titles. So, considering the proximity of Dragon’s Dogma 2’s release next month and Capcom’s history of offering demos for their games pre-launch, this seems like a plausible outcome.
Apart from the mentioned listing, the game’s system requirements have also been posted on the Steam page. And if the speculation on Dragon’s Dogma 2 demo is true, it should meet these requirements as well.
The minimum system requirement includes an Intel Core i5 10600 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 processor, 16 GB of RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT, with 8GB of VRAM. And the recommended system specifications for running the game at 30 FPS should have an Intel Core i7-10700 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X processor, 16 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 or AMD Radeon RX 6700.
Also, in a recent financial results conference call Q&A summary, it was revealed that Dragon’s Dogma 2 is the first Capcom game, costing $70, but additional games are likely on the way. In response to a query regarding the company’s video pricing strategy, Capcom mentioned that triple-A video games were now typically sold for $69.99 throughout the industry. A Capcom rep said, “Industrywide development costs are rising, and we are considering a price review as one option. Ultimately, we intend to take a thoughtful approach in pricing our games while ascertaining user feedback.”
Regarding expectations for Dragon’s Dogma 2, Capcom did not provide specific figures but mentioned that they consider the game to be in the million-selling class. However, only time can tell how the game actually unfolds, but we might get a demo soon as the rumors suggest.
