According to recent reports, a Gravity Rush 2 remastered version is in development and will be released on the PS5 and PC.
UPDATE: 05/03/24
A build for the Gravity Rush 2 Remastered game is being tested on the Steam Deck, and video of it may leak soon, says the same leaker who claimed that it will launch for the PS5 and PC. However, he cautions that the rumors may have an impact on the game’s playtesting process, as he wasn’t prepared for them to spread so quickly.
ORIGINAL STORY
The leak of Sony Interactive Entertainment and Japan Studio’s 2017 action-adventure game, Gravity Rush 2 getting a remaster for both PS5 and PC comes from an insider who also disclosed information about the movie based on the Gravity Rush series. This isn’t the first time the source has mentioned the Gravity Rush 2 remaster, as they have been discussing it for about a year. However, new insights have been provided on the Team Alua Gravity Rush Discord server.
According to the insider, fans can anticipate news about the Gravity Rush 2 remaster in May 2024, and if all goes as planned, the remaster is expected to be released in late summer for PS5. Moreover, he said that the PC version of the Gravity Rush 2 Remastered will also be released at a later time.
If the leaker’s claims are to be believed, then Gravity Rush 2 remastered will have a proper photo mode as it is currently being tested. Additionally, the remastered version does not have the online component, such as dusty tokens; rather, all items obtained through online activities will be obtained through a new, short side quest.
The source revealed that one of his friends is a Playtester of the game and has access to some screenshots that he might share at some point.
As for the leaker’s credibility, they accurately predicted the Gravity Rush movie’s production and its appearance at CES. A teaser of the movie was indeed shown at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) on January 8 in Las Vegas.
Now those who might not know about the title, an incredible gem of an RPG, Gravity Rush 2, also known as Gravity Daze 2 in Japan, is the much-anticipated follow-up to the 2012 original Gravity Rush. Gravity Rush gained popularity upon its 2012 release, leading Japan Studio to develop a sequel for the PlayStation 4 in 2017. The sequel featured gravity-focused free-roaming gameplay with various gravity “styles” that affected the protagonist’s movement. Then almost a year later, the developers remastered the original game for the same platform.
Now, the news of Gravity Rush 2 remastered has sparked considerable excitement among fans. However, as is with all the leaks, they should be taken with a grain of salt until official confirmation is provided.
