The eagerly awaited Crash 5 from Toys For Bob seems to have been canceled during development, and the future of the popular series also looks blurry.
Toys For Bob’s Crash Bandicoot 5 has seemingly been shelved during its development. Nicholas Kole, a character designer and illustrator who worked on “Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time,” hinted that this new game was canceled and that fans may hear some disheartening news soon.

This news came from a Twitter post by Kole, who also mentioned that another game he worked on, “Project Dragon,” was canceled. He revealed that this new IP that the team was working on for three years, was officially dead after internal efforts to save it failed.
While some fans thought “Project Dragon” was a new Spyro game, Kole clarified it wasn’t. More importantly, he hinted about the canceled Crash Bandicoot 5, stating, “It is not Spyro, but some day folks will hear about the Crash 5 that never was and it’s gonna break hearts.”
While Kole did not give more details about the canceled Crash Bandicoot 5, this mere bit of info was enough to cause a stir among fans.
Toys For Bob and the Crash Bandicoot
For those who don’t know, Toys For Bob is the studio behind “Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time” and the successful “Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy.”
Because of this, it seems likely that Toys For Bob started working on Crash Bandicoot 5. However, we don’t know the exact reasons why the project was canceled. And it’s unclear if the game was stopped during development or if the idea was rejected before it got very far.
The timing of this cancellation is interesting because it happened around the same time Microsoft bought Activision Blizzard, which owns Toys For Bob.
At first, fans were hopeful that Microsoft’s purchase would bring new life to series like Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon. But since the buyout, there hasn’t been much news about these games.
