Pokemon Go is celebrating its 7th anniversary with a special event that includes new costumed Pokemon, a shiny Mew, bonuses, and more.

The event will take place from July 6 to July 12, 2023, with specific start and end times.

Two new costumed Pokemon, Wartortle and Blastoise wearing party hats, will make their debut during the event. Shiny versions of these Pokemon may also be encountered.

Squirtle wearing a party hat can be evolved into Wartortle and then into Blastoise wearing a party hat using Squirtle Candy.

Trainers can enjoy various bonuses during the event, such as increased chances of becoming Lucky Friends and obtaining lucky Pokemon through trades. Spinning PokeStops with a Golden Lure Module may reward special Gimmighoul Coins.

Each day of the event features unique bonuses, including increased XP or candy for catching Pokemon, faster friendship level increase, and increased XP for evolving Pokemon.

Specific times during the event offer additional bonuses, such as increased Stardust, reduced egg hatch distance, and increased candy for transferring Pokemon.

Wild encounters during the event will feature Pokemon like Squirtle wearing a party hat, Pikachu wearing a cake hat, Meowth, Ponyta, Togedemaru, Galarian Ponyta, and Absol. Some Pokemon may appear shiny.

Raids during the event include various Pokemon in different star levels, with Mega Blastoise available in Mega Raids.

Trainers can purchase the Masterwork Research story, All-in-One #151, for a chance to encounter the shiny Mew. Benefits include extended durations for Incense, Daily Adventure Incense, and Lure Modules.

Timed Research, accessed with a fee, offers various rewards and encounters, including a Pikachu wearing a party hat. New avatar items and stickers will be available, and an exclusive Anniversary Box can be found in the Pokemon GO Web Store for a limited time.
