Capcom Set To Announce A New AAA Game In Late 2023, But It’s Not Resident Evil

After the Resident Evil 4 Remake, fans are curious about Capcom’s next move. However, it seems that there won’t be anything major happening in the Resident Evil universe in 2024. Recent reports indicate that Capcom has a big game planned for a late 2023 reveal, which will launch the following year, but interestingly, it’s not related to Resident Evil.

According to well-known source Dusk Golem, Capcom is still planning to release a big game in 2024, with an announcement scheduled for late 2023 (there isn’t much time left for an announcement at this point). However, he asserted that no Resident Evil remakes will be out in 2024.

The Resident Evil leaker addressed a variety of subjects in a post on The Snitch’s discord service, including dispelling a recent rumor about a Resident Evil CODE: Veronica remake that was making the rounds on 4chan.

He said, “But anyways, there is a big Capcom game that’s being announced in late 2023 and releasing in 2024. But it is not a Resident Evil game. I will say that 4cha rumour is bollacks [sic], its someone making shit up. But there is no RE remakes coming out in 2024, I promise that.”

Since Dragon’s Dogma has already been announced and Golem says it’s not Resident Evil, most people are assuming that the mystery title could be a new Monster Hunter game. Most likely, this is the game Capcom has stated will be released by the end of its current fiscal year.

Regarding Resident Evil CODE: Veronica, there have been rumors that the game would have a remake since it’s an important part of the series and, in comparison to Resident Evil 5 or 6, it definitely needs a modern makeover. However, Capcom hasn’t made any announcements yet but hasn’t completely ruled anything out either.

This revelation doesn’t entirely rule out a Resident Evil announcement in 2024, but it suggests that nothing of significant impact will be released. As always, it’s wise to take any unofficial information with a grain of salt. While the source has been reliable previously, there have been instances of inaccuracies, casting some doubt on the reliability of future information from this individual.
