Epic Games LEGO Metaverse Project

Well, the wave for online space has been on high buzz since Mark Zuckerberg Meta revealed the Metaverse space ideas. This metaverse wave has already reached the gaming industry. Prior to the “Epic Games LEGO Metaverse Project” collaboration, big names such as Microsoft and Bandai Namco have also informed about coming up within the metaverse space.

Microsoft is expected to collaborate with Xbox games to come up with something in the online space. Moreover, Bandai Namco has announced an investment of $140 million into an IP metaverse venture. And now with the metaverse news from the LEGO Group and Epic Games, the future of online space gaming looks precisely prominent.

Both the companies, The LEGO Group and EPIC Games, released a mutual statement on their bonding for the Epic Games LEGO metaverse project.

LEGO and Epic Games stated that both companies will be working together with their experienced staff to build an online space for kids, which will be primarily focused on kids’ well-being.

The companies haven’t revealed much information about the upcoming Epic Games LEGO Metaverse project and neither did they release a detailed outlook. However, according to the blog post, both companies have agreed on three primary principles for the metaverse project.

  • They’ll prioritize a safe and well-being game space.
  • They’ll be prioritizing the children’s interests in order to assure children’s privacy.
  • They’ll also provide digital space tools to give complete control to kids and adults.

The blog post further stated, “The two companies will team up to build an immersive, creatively inspiring, and engaging digital experience for kids of all ages to enjoy together. The family-friendly digital experience will give kids access to tools that will empower them to become confident creators and deliver amazing play opportunities in a safe and positive space.”

At the same time, Epic Games CEO and founder Tim Sweeney presented his views on this new Epic Games LEGO Metaverse project, saying, “The LEGO Group has captivated the imagination of children and adults through creative play for nearly a century, and we are excited to come together to build a space in the metaverse that’s fun, entertaining, and made for kids and families”.

Niels B Christiansen, CEO of the LEGO Group further added to the statement, “Kids enjoy playing in digital and physical worlds and move seamlessly between the two. We believe there is huge potential for them to develop life-long skills such as creativity, collaboration, and communication through digital experiences. But we have a responsibility to make them safe, inspiring, and beneficial for all.”

He added, “Just as we’ve protected children’s rights to safe physical play for generations, we are committed to doing the same for digital play. We look forward to working with Epic Games to shape this exciting and playful future.”

With gaming giants like the LEGO Group and Epic Games collaborating to come up with a new Epic Games LEGO metaverse project, the future of online space gaming seems bright and safe.

Both companies, in the past, have also initiated the development of secure gaming spaces for kids. Epic Games bought a kid’s gaming safe digital engagement company, SuperAwesome. On the other hand, LEGO Group also has a Digital Child Safety Policy with UNICEF for safe children’s gameplay.
