Pokemon Go Powerful Potential Event Date and Time
The “Powerful Potential” event in Pokemon Go kicks off on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. and wraps up on Monday, March 10, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
No matter where you are, the event will start and end based on your own time zone, so everyone gets the same experience.
Pokemon Debut in Powerful Potential
Kubfu, the Wushu Pokemon, is finally making its way to Pokemon GO in the Powerful Potential event. This tough little Fighting-type Pokemon from Generation VIII is all about training hard and mastering martial arts.
If you catch one, you can evolve it into Urshifu, which has two awesome forms: Single Strike Style (Fighting/Dark) and Rapid Strike Style (Fighting/Water).
During this event, you’ll have a chance to catch Kubfu through a free Special Research story.
Egg Hatches
Charcadet will be hatching from 2 km, 5 km, 7 km, and 10 km Eggs during this event.
The big news is that Shiny Charcadet is making its first-ever appearance, giving trainers a brand-new variant to chase.
These Eggs won’t just have Charcadet, though—you’ll still find the usual Pokemon that normally hatch from each distance tier this season.
Pokemon Go Powerful Potential Event Bonuses
The Pokémon Go Powerful Potential event brings two exciting bonuses for players.
- All Eggs placed in Incubators during the event will require only 1/2 Egg Hatch Distance, making it easier to hatch Eggs faster.
- By completing event-themed Timed Research tasks, an additional boost can be earned, reducing the required distance even further to just 1/4 Egg Hatch Distance.
Max Battles
Max Battles will take place from Saturday, March 8, at 6:00 a.m. to Sunday, March 9, 2025, at 9:00 p.m. local time. Throughout this event, Power Spots will refresh at an increased rate, allowing Trainers more opportunities to participate.
- One-Star Max Battles will include Dynamax Grookey, Dynamax Scorbunny, and Dynamax Sobble.
- For those looking for a tougher challenge, Six-Star Max Battles will feature Gigantamax Venusaur, Gigantamax Charizard, and Gigantamax Blastoise.
These Pokemon may also appear in their Shiny forms, offering Trainers a rare and exciting chance to capture them.
Raids
Trainers have the opportunity to participate in special Raid Battles featuring a variety of Pokemon.
In One-Star Raids, you’ll find Gothita, Solosis, and Sinistea, with a chance to catch Shiny versions of Gothita and Solosis.
If you’re up for more of a challenge, Three-Star Raids feature Alolan Raichu, Hisuian Typhlosion, and Sableye, all of which could also appear as Shiny Pokémon.
Paid Special Research – Fuzzy Fighter
The Fuzzy Fighter Special Research is a paid quest in Pokemon GO, available for a limited time during the Powerful Potential event. For $8.00 (or local equivalent), trainers can unlock this exclusive research packed with rewards and exciting encounters.
Once purchased, trainers can complete it whenever they like.

Special event-themed tasks are now available. By completing them, you will have the opportunity to encounter various Pokemon, including:
- Alolan Raichu
- Hisuian Typhlosion
- Sableye
- Gothita
- Solosis
- Sinistea
While most of these Pokémon can appear as Shiny variants, Sinistea will not be available in its Shiny form.
