Final Fantasy 16 PC Requirements might be heavy, suggests Yoshi-P

In a recent interview with Famitsu, the producer of Final Fantasy XVI, Naoki “Yoshi-P” Yoshida, shared some important information. The game is set to release on PC next year, but unfortunately, the revealed minimum Final Fantasy 16 PC requirements might not be good news for those with lower-end PCs. Read on to know the full story.

Expected Final Fantasy 16 PC Requirements

The Final Fantasy 16 team, led by Yoshi-P, suggests that the PC version of the game will have high system requirements. Originally designed for the PS5 with its M.2 SSD, they are working on optimizing it for PC. However, users need to be aware of their hardware limitations, with an SSD being a necessary component for a smooth experience.

When asked about the Final Fantasy 16 PC requirements, Yoshida hinted that having an SSD is probably going to be necessary. He mentioned that the game needs to load quickly, and using a regular hard drive (HDD) would be challenging.

Some estimated Final Fantasy 16 PC requirements include:

  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 GPU
  • Intel Core i5-4460 CPU
  • 8GB of RAM

Yoshi-P explained that they are working hard to make the game run well on PCs, but he also mentioned that they can’t do everything, especially regarding the computer’s hardware. He said, “Of course, we will do our best to optimize as much as possible, but we cannot overcome the hardware barrier alone, so please consider that an SSD is a must. We will announce the exact recommended specifications on another occasion.”

Some new games, like Starfield and Cyberpunk 2077, insist you have a fast SSD for a smooth experience. Final Fantasy 16 is also expected to be great on PC, but the producer mentioned that making it work well on PC will take time. This is because they want to ensure it’s optimized properly and not rushed, especially after six months of exclusivity on PS5.

Final Fantasy XVI DLC (3)

The PC version of the game doesn’t have an official release date yet but Naoki Yoshida said they will give an update by the end of 2023. People think it might come out around November 2024 based on when other games in the series were released. Final Fantasy 16 came out on June 22, 2023, but only for the PS5. Sony says it will be exclusive to the PS5 for six months.
