Fans are really excited about the next big update for Genshin Impact, Version 5.0 as it is gonna bring a lot of new stuff, like a big new area and lots of new characters. The update is suppose to come out in late August 2024, and everyone is looking forward to it including the new characters.

Here’s what we know so far about the Genshin Impact 5.0 update, region, release date, leaks, characters, artifacts, enemies, new features, and more.

Genshin Impact 5.0 Livestream

The Genshin Impact 5.0 livestream is gonna happen on August 16 at midnight (UTC-4). During this Livestream, HoYoverse will show all the first details about Natlan, like what the characters Kinich, Mualani, and Kachina are like.

You can watch the Genshin 5.0 Livestream live on the game’s official Twitch and YouTube channels at the same time.

Genshin Impact 5.0 Region: Natlan

Version 5.0 will take players to Natlan, the sixth big region in Teyvat. This new place will be huge and detailed, just like Sumeru. It will have volcanoes, cliffs, rivers, grasslands, and forests. Natlan’s map will be unique with different layers of land and tribes, making exploring super fun.

The landscapes in Natlan will not only look amazing but also have cool gameplay mechanics. There will be new ways to explore called ‘Quick Exploration,’ which will use Hydro and Cryo characters to make adventures more exciting.

Genshin Impact 5.0 Release Date and Leaks

Even though the official release date for the Genshin 5.0 update isn’t confirmed, it is speculated to launch on August 27, 2024. This fits with the usual update cycle, following the release of Version 4.8 on July 17, 2024.

While the exact date is still a guess, everyone is very excited, and lots of leaks are giving us a sneak peek at what’s coming.

Genshin Impact 5.0 Characters and Gameplay

In Version 5.0, some new characters from Natlan will be joining the game. So far, three characters have been officially shown: Kachina, Kinich, and Mualani.

  • Kachina: A Geo character who fights with a polearm.
  • Kinich: A Dendro character who uses a big sword called a claymore.
  • Mualani: A Hydro character who uses a catalyst for attacks.

These characters are likely to show up in the first Genshin 5.0 banners, and later banners might include a mix of new characters and some old favorites.

Genshin Impact 5.0 Banners

The Genshin Impact 5.0 update is expected to feature two phases with new and returning character banners:

Genshin 5.0 Character Banners

  • Phase 1 (August 28 – September 17):
  • Mualani (Catalyst)
  • Zhongli (Polearm)
  • Phase 2 (September 17 – October 7):
  • Kinich (Claymore)
  • Wriothesly (Catalyst)
  • Kachina (4-star Polearm)

Leaks say that Mualani will be in the first part of the update’s banners, while Kinich and Kachina will appear in the second part of the Genshin 5.0 banner. This means players will have lots of choices for who they want on their team.

Genshin 5.0 Weapon Banners

  • Phase 1 (August 28 – September 17):
  • Mualani’s signature weapon (Catalyst)
  • Zhongli’s Vortex Vanquisher (Polearm)
  • Phase 2 (September 17 – October 7):
  • Kinich’s signature weapon (Claymore)
  • Wriothesly’s Cashflow Supervision (Catalyst)

Genshin Impact 5.0 Artifacts and Strongbox

The update will also bring some new artifacts to the game, made to work well with the Quick Exploration feature.

New leaks tell us about two new Genshin 5.0 artifact sets: the Jincheng Hero Scroll and the Obsidian Codex. The Jincheng Hero Scroll gives bonuses to elemental and physical damage under certain conditions, while the Obsidian Codex boosts damage and crit rate when using the Night Soul enhancement.

The Artifact Strongbox will also get an update with new options like Deepwood Memories, Gilded Dreams, and Desert Pavilion Chronicles, which will help players customize and improve their characters even more.

Genshin Impact 5.0 Enemies and Bosses

Players can expect some new tough enemies to fight in Natlan. Leaks say there will be different new enemies and bosses. Some of these new genshin 5.0 enemies might be Saurians, which are kinda like dinosaurs, and some are human-like enemies.

There are also big bosses like the Gluttonous Yumkasaur Mountain Lord and the Goldflame Qucusaur Tyrant. The Yumkasaur might hit you with Dendro damage, while the Qucusaur will use Pyro damage.

Plus, the Natlan region is gonna have 26 new enemies, making the game even more exciting and challenging.

New Features and Changes in Genshin Impact 5.0 Update

The Genshin Version 5.0 is expected to bring significant changes to existing game mechanics and features.

The World Level might go up from Level 8 to Level 9, which means your characters can get stronger, but the game will also get harder. There might also be some updates to the Spiral Abyss, like maybe skipping some floors based on previous completion status.

The update might also bring in new ways to get around, like new mounts or ways to travel that are just for Natlan. And there could be lots of new Pyroculus to collect, with up to 271 in the first patch, which is more than in the other regions.

Furthermore, the update might introduce new mounts or traversal mechanics specific to Natlan, enhancing the exploration experience. The Pyroculus count is rumored to be substantial, with up to 271 collectible Pyroculus in the initial patch, a notable increase compared to previous regions.

Apart from all of the above, the story in Natlan is gonna push the Genshin Impact story closer to the big finish. Leaks say the adventure will take players from Natlan to Snezhnaya, and maybe even beyond, like to Celestia and what happens after Teyvat.

Overall, the Genshin Impact 5.0 update looks like it’s going to be one of the most exciting updates ever. With Natlan, new characters, new items, and fresh gameplay, there’s a lot to be excited about.

As the release date gets closer, fans can expect even more news and sneak peeks about what’s coming. But for now, it’s good to remember that leaks are just leaks, and things could change.
