GTA 6 Reportedly Delayed to Mid-2026

GTA 6 has been in the news lately because of some leaks about its release date, second trailer, and how the game will look. Now, a writer at GTABase says that Rockstar Games has already delayed the game inside their company, and it might come out in the first half of 2026. Here’s what we know so far.

GTA 6 Has Been Delayed to Mid-2026 – New Rumors

A user on X named billsyliamgta, who is known for giving reliable news about Rockstar and GTA, says the game’s console version has been delayed to mid-2026. It was supposed to come out next year, but now that may not happen. The user claims that this information comes from some developers at two different studios inside Rockstar. Now, this news is true, Take-Two (the company that owns Rockstar) will have to change their earnings predictions for next year.

Even though the first GTA 6 trailer claimed the game would come out in 2025, later on, Take-Two revealed that they were targeting for Fall 2025 release. Rockstar and Take-Two still seemed quite sure about this date, even though they only released one trailer so far. But now, with these new reports, it looks like they have already pushed the release date back.

Some fans think Liam’s report is not true because there isn’t much proof to back it up. But Liam has claimed that he wouldn’t have said it if he wasn’t 99.9% sure it’s correct. He even stated that he has talked to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier about it as Schreier also recently claimed that Grand Theft Auto 6 getting delayed into 2026, so maybe we will get more details about GTA’s situation soon.

In addition to the console version, Liam has also claimed that the PC version of GTA 6 will come 12 to 18 months after the console release. So, PC players might not get to play it until mid-2027, or maybe even later in early 2028.

This info has not been confirmed yet, but if it turns out to be right, it could change next year’s release plans and even affect how long the current consoles, like the PS5, are expected to last.

Also, there are rumors about the PS5 Pro releasing this year, and there is possibly a deal between Sony and Rockstar for special marketing rights for GTA 6. So, if this happens, it could mean Grand Theft Auto 6 is still on track for its original release date. There are even rumors that the PS5 Pro might come out this week, which might also increase the chances of a second Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer being released soon. If so, fans might not need to worry and can hope for the game to release on time.

But you never know, there might be some truth to these rumors. For now, we can only wait till Rockstar Games comes forward with an official news or the Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer to know what’s happening in reality. Right now, everyone is eagerly waiting for the next big game.
