Hideaki Itsuno, a big name in the gaming world, has decided to leave Capcom after working there for over 30 years.

Itsuno, who directed some of the most popular games like Devil May Cry 3, 4, 5, and Dragon’s Dogma 1 and 2, shared this news on social media. He said he’ll be leaving at the end of August 2024.

He thanked all his fans for their support and gave a little hint about some exciting plans he has for the future. Starting in September 2024, Itsuno will start making a new game in a fresh place, and he’s hoping to create something just as amazing, or even better, than his past games.

In his post on X (Twitter), Itsuno said:

“At the end of August 2024, I will be leaving Capcom after 30 years and 5 months. Thank you for your long-term support of the games and characters I have been responsible for. I hope you will continue to support Capcom’s games and characters. From September, I will start developing a new game in a new environment. I hope to create fun, beautiful games that are as memorable as, or even more memorable than, the ones I have created so far. Please stay tuned for my next creation.”

While working at Capcom, Itsuno became famous for creating deep and challenging games, making many loved characters and game series come alive. His latest game, Dragon’s Dogma 2, got a lot of praise, with some people even saying it’s one of the best RPGs in recent years.

We don’t yet know how his leaving will affect the future of the Devil May Cry and Dragon’s Dogma series, but fans are excited to see what he will come up with next. As Itsuno moves on, his work at Capcom is still seen as incredible, and everyone in the gaming world is eagerly waiting for his next big project.
