Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Set to Steal the Show at Nintendo Switch 2 Direct

Excitement is through the roof for Nintendo’s big Switch 2 Direct on April 2, 2025. Fans can’t wait to see what’s in store, especially with all the buzz around Metroid Prime 4: Beyond.

Popular content creator Reece “Kiwi Talkz” Reilly believes this reveal could outshine everything else at the event. If true, it could mean some serious upgrades using the new console’s power.

On top of that, rumors are swirling about other big titles, including a brand-new 3D Mario game and the long-awaited Mario Kart 9.

Let’s find out what to expect from this highly anticipated event.

Anticipated Unveiling of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond

Reece “Kiwi Talkz” Reilly, a content creator and game developer interviewer, has dropped a big hint about Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. He recently posted on X (formerly Twitter) that the game is set for a huge reveal during the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Direct.

According to him, Nintendo and Retro Studios have been keeping things under wraps for a reason, and this will be the moment they finally show what they’ve been working on.

He believes the reveal will be the biggest highlight of the event. While Nintendo often makes last-minute changes to its presentations, Reilly is “90% certain” that Metroid Prime 4: Beyond will be there.

This could mean a major showcase, possibly demonstrating the power of the new console.

Potential Features Leveraging Switch 2 Hardware

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is expected to take full advantage of the technological advancements in the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.

This new console is expected to pack a bigger 7.9-inch LCD screen, an octa-core ARM Cortex-A78C CPU, and a 12 SM Ampere GPU. That means better graphics, smoother gameplay, and faster load times.

Players might get higher resolutions, improved frame rates, and even advanced effects like ray tracing.

With support for Nvidia’s DLSS technology, the game could even be upscaled to 4K, making the experience more detailed and immersive than ever before.

Other Expected First-Party Titles at the Direct

In addition, the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Direct is expected to unveil several major first-party titles. A new 3D Mario platformer is also expected to be revealed, potentially continuing the legacy of Super Mario Odyssey or introducing an entirely new gameplay experience.

Mario Kart 9 has been teased with a brief clip showcasing an expanded player count of 24 racers, signaling a significant leap in hardware capabilities.

On top of that, a new Super Smash Bros. could be in the works, promising better graphics and smoother online matches.

All these exciting titles will show off just how much the next-gen Switch can do.
