A high school teacher in Missouri, Brianna Coppage, has decided to resign after being suspended from her position when her school discovered her involvement in sexually explicit content on the OnlyFans website.
Coppage, an English teacher at St. Clair High School, turned to OnlyFans as a means to supplement her teaching income, which she disclosed to be around $42,000, one of the lowest starting salaries for teachers in the country.
The 28-year-old teacher was earning up to $10,000 monthly through her OnlyFans page. After her page was found, Brianna Coppage was put on leave and the district took precautions to protect her identity.
Talking about the matter, Superintendent Kyle Kruse noted that an employee may have posted inappropriate content on internet platforms, leading up to her suspension. Kruse also emphasized that Coppage’s resignation was voluntary and that the school had taken measures to ensure confidentiality during the suspension.
Coppage, unapologetic about her choice, believes that sex work shouldn’t carry a stigma. She expressed her initial decision to join OnlyFans was driven by the financial challenges faced by teachers in Missouri.
While Coppage hasn’t provided further details on her plans, it remains to be seen if she will pursue content creation on OnlyFans more extensively. This incident highlights the broader issue of teacher salaries, particularly in states like Missouri, where many educators find it necessary to seek supplementary income streams.
