Pokemon GO April 2025 Community Day is bringing Vanillite into the spotlight on Saturday, April 27, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.
There’s a lot to look forward to—triple XP and double Candy for catching Pokemon, plus a higher chance of getting Candy XL if you’re level 31 or above. Lure Modules and Incense (except Daily Adventure Incense) will last three hours, and taking snapshots might bring some fun surprises.
From 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., you can make one extra Special Trade, and trades will cost 50% less Stardust.
If you evolve Vanillish during the event or within the next seven days, your Vanilluxe will learn the exclusive Charged Attack Avalanche.
Pokemon Fans’ Hate Towards Vanillite
Vanillite doesn’t have the best reputation in the Pokemon community, mostly because of its design. It looks like an ice cream cone, and a lot of fans think that’s just lazy.

The next Pokemon GO Community Day is happening on April 27, 2025, and it features a fun Pokemon. Here’s everything you need to know about the event.
Event Bonuses:
- 3× XP for catching Pokemon.
- 2× Candy for catching Pokemon.
- 2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL from catching Pokemon.
- Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.
- Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours.
- One additional Special Trade can be made for a maximum of two for the day.
- Trades will require 50% less Stardust.
Most bonuses are active during the three-hour event period, but the trading bonuses extend until 10:00 p.m. local time.
Featured Attack:
Evolve Vanillish (Vanillite’s Evolution) during the event or within a week after—until May 4, 2025, at 10:00 p.m. local time—to get a Vanilluxe that can use the Charged Attack Avalanche. This move packs a punch, delivering 90 power in Trainer Battles and 85 power in Gyms and Raids.
Special Research:
For US$2.00 (or the equivalent in your local currency), you can access the Vanillite Community Day–exclusive Special Research. Completing this research grants rewards such as:
- Three encounters with Vanillite featuring a Might and Mastery–themed Special Background.
- Additional Vanillite encounters.
- One Premium Battle Pass.
- One Rare Candy XL.
Tickets for this Special Research can also be gifted to friends with a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher.
Timed Research:
If you log in during Community Day, you’ll get access to special Timed Research, where you can encounter Vanillite with a cool Might and Mastery-themed background. Just make sure to finish the research and claim your rewards before Saturday, May 4, 2025, at 10:00 p.m. local time.
Field Research:
Community Day–themed Field Research tasks will be available, rewarding Trainers with Stardust, Great Balls, additional Vanillite encounters, and more.
PokéStop Showcases:
Keep an eye out for Showcases at various PokéStops during Vanillite Community Day.
Event Bundles:
Two Community Day bundles will be available in the in-game shop:
- For 1,350 PokeCoins: 50 Ultra Balls, five Super Incubators, one Elite Charged TM, and five Lucky Eggs.
- For 480 PokeCoins: 30 Ultra Balls, one Incense, three Super Incubators, and one Lure Module.
