PS5 Pro Announcement Rumored To Happen Soon at State of Play September 2024 Event

There are a lot of rumors flying around that Sony might soon announce the PlayStation 5 Pro, which is like a more powerful version of the PS5, at a special event this September. These rumors have been going on for some time, but now they seem to be getting stronger.

PS5 Pro at State of Play September 2024 Event

A trusted person named Lunatic Ignus, who has guessed other gaming news correctly before, said that Sony could reveal the PS5 Pro as early as next week. He shared this on his Discord server, suggesting that Sony might finally show the new console in mid or late September.

There’s another leaker named billbil-kun who also hinted that the announcement could happen in the first half of September, which fits with what Ignus said. So, fans are getting excited and hopeful that the PlayStation 5 Pro will be officially revealed soon.

Another well-known gaming insider, Jeff Grubb, also shared his thoughts about the potential announcement of the PlayStation 5 Pro. On his podcast, he speculated that Sony might hold a State of Play presentation in the last week of September, during which they could officially reveal the new console. Grubb also suggested that the PS5 Pro might be priced at around $599, which is on the higher side. However, he thinks that dedicated PlayStation fans could be willing to pay that price.

It’s important to note, though, that these are still just rumors, as Sony hasn’t confirmed anything about the new PS5 console yet. Until there’s an official announcement, we cannot be 100% sure.

What to Expect From PS5 Pro?

The PlayStation 5 Pro is rumored to be a mid-generation upgrade of the original PS5. It might have some design changes, like three black stripes across the middle, and it could come with some major improvements, such as more storage and better performance. Some rumors even suggest that it might support 8K gaming, although this has not been confirmed. Leaked images and sketches indicate that the PS5 Pro will resemble the current PS5 and PS5 Slim, with only a few design tweaks.

However, there are concerns that the PlayStation 5 Pro might not live up to expectations. Jeff Grubb mentioned that this new console could be more of a disappointment compared to the PS4 Pro when it was released.

Adding to all this, leaks from Dealabs showed us a sketch of the PS5 Pro’s final packaging. But due to copyright stuff, they couldn’t show the actual picture. From what they explained, the new console’s design looks like the current PS5 but with a few changes. One big difference is it might not have a built-in disc drive. However, it’s believed that the current PS5’s external disc drive might work with this new one.

If these rumors turn out to be true, Sony might be planning to announce this PlayStation 5 Pro very soon, maybe even in the State of Play September 2024 event. Moreover, there’s also speculation that Sony might show off new games at the same event, and there could be a big first-party game reveal.

But again nothing is confirmed, but the rumors about the PS5 Pro announcement come from many reliable sources, so there high chance that Sony could reveal the console soon.
