It’s been suggested that a custom-made PlayStation 5 Tiny is notably smaller than the updated PS5 Slim from Sony.
Sony recently launched a new PS5 Slim and though it might seem a bit underwhelming when stacked up against previous console upgrades, it does come with a more efficient 6nm chip and a smaller motherboard, enhancing its design. However, a recent video from the tech channel Not From Concentrate on YouTube revealed something interesting: the PS5 Slim can be way smaller. A custom build showcased by ‘NFC’ proved that it can be downright tiny.
The entire eleven-minute video showcases the PlayStation 5 Tiny in all of its charming, powerfully compact beauty.
Though it has a form shape more comparable to a small PC than a console, the design sticks to the console’s white and black color scheme. NFC created the smallest PlayStation system ever using an external disc drive, and it looked amazing. You would want to purchase this level of effort. It is a low-profile elegant system and has a built-in station for charging your controllers.
Using a 3D printer and a ton of technological know-how, NFC built the PS5 Tiny using many of the original components from the console. It makes sense that a lot of parts were changed, including the SSD, the disc drive, and the cooling and power systems.
In the video, NFC provided a detailed display of the PS5 Tiny’s functioning, highlighting the special features that were integrated into the gadget, such as the cooling control systems. In addition, a more portable 250W power supply was used in place of the original one.
In addition to significantly shrinking the PS5’s physical footprint in comparison to the launch edition, the PlayStation 5 Tiny also shows the console in a completely different manner. The custom PlayStation 5 Tiny reduces volume and size by approximately 60% compared to Sony’s PlayStation 5 Slim, which only delivered a 30% decrease.
Console designers usually take a certain route, which involves releasing something that is “regular-sized” initially, then following it up with a more compact, streamlined version two or three years later. Since the year 2000, this has occurred with practically every console generation, and it is still the current system in place.
However, there are some innovative minds challenging the norms. Certain technicians aspire to surpass the bounds of ‘small’ altogether, surpassing the idea of “slim” and venturing as far as “tiny.”
All things considered, the PS5 Tiny has an amazing design and heat efficiency that is on par with the original PlayStation 5.
