Red Dead Redemption Remaster Hinted by New Logo Update

Speculations and rumors have been swirling around the possibility of a Red Dead Redemption remaster or remake, but nothing has been officially confirmed.

Recently, hints were uncovered after an update to Rockstar’s website, suggesting that something related to Red Dead Redemption (possibly a Red Dead Redemption Remaster) is in the works, complete with a new logo.

UPDATE: 29/07/23

Adding to the past leaks, according to @Hubfex and @TezFunz2, a brand-new Red Dead Redemption-related font named “RDRUltraHeadline” went online on Rockstar Games’ website yesterday.

The font was applied to a newswire with certain inspect elements in the leak, which was released on Twitter. It indicates the font is reserved for a future newswire publication.

Though it’s very likely that the announcement is approaching, don’t hold out hope for next week. These modifications can be a sign that a news release is being prepared to announce the product. Although these things sometimes take time, the announcement is highly likely to be scheduled for August.

New Red Dead Redemption Remaster Leaks

Red Dead Redemption was an outstanding game in its time, and its successor, Red Dead Redemption 2, took things even further. Fans have long been yearning for a remaster of the first game, and ideally, a remake using RDR2’s engine would be a dream come true.

Now a reputable and trustable Rockstar leaker, Tez2, has delved into recent data that indicates the possibility of a Red Dead Redemption remaster. Following an update to Rockstar’s website, a new version of Red Dead Redemption was listed, accompanied by an all-new logo.

On Twitter, Tez2 revealed a new logo and codename, RDR1RSP, and the title “Red Dead Redemption (Rockstar Presents Ver).”

Well, this is the closest thing to confirmation so far, hinting that the project may be underway behind closed doors. There have been speculations that the remaster could be announced in August 2023, and with the date just around the corner, Rockstar’s recent website changes may be pointing toward an imminent announcement.

Also, it is absolutely based on speculation, but there might be a chance that RDR1 Remaster might come to Nintendo Switch.

Tez2 found that a platform button for the Nintendo Switch has recently been added.

The PS3, Xbox 360, and Switch were just included as platform buttons (CTA), according to Tez2, who found this image. Since the PS3 and Xbox 360 buttons were on those systems in the past, they are simple to understand. However, he discovered that the Nintendo Switch logo had been added.

Now these are mere theories, but GTA was made available on Switch, therefore, it is reasonable to assume that Rockstar will attempt to do the same.

Korean Age Ratings Website Adds Credibility

Furthermore, the appearance of Red Dead Redemption on the Korean Age ratings website has provided more concrete evidence.

The Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea, known for offering advanced information on games, rated Red Dead Redemption following an application by Take-Two, Rockstar’s parent company. Although the listing doesn’t specify the exact nature of the release (remake, remaster, or port), it strongly suggests that the game will be re-released later this year in some form.

Colin Moriarty’s Insider Information

Not only the age ratings, but Colin Moriarty, a former IGN editor, also adds to the excitement, claiming that Rockstar is actively working on the Red Dead Redemption Remaster.

He assures fans that previous rumors of its cancellation were exaggerated and that the remaster is indeed in development. Moriarty even suggests that an official announcement could be on the horizon, possibly in August 2023.

While fans eagerly anticipate the possibility of a Red Dead Redemption remaster, it’s essential to approach this news with cautious optimism. In the past, Rockstar Games has been hesitant or slow to rerelease or remake their older titles. However, given the immense popularity of the franchise and the overwhelming demand from fans, there is hope that Rockstar will deliver an exceptional experience with the remaster.

Whether it’s a remaster or a full-fledged remake, the idea of going back to the classic Wild West setting and reliving John Marston’s adventures is exciting for both old and new players. As August 2023 approaches, the gaming community waits in excitement for Rockstar to fulfill fans’ wishes and bring Red Dead Redemption back to life in a whole new way.
