The S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy pre-order listings for a PS4 version have appeared at several Japanese retailers, with a June 27 release date, despite the game’s official announcement still being awaited.
UPDATE: 06/03/24
Microsoft revealed the Legends of the Zone Trilogy in its entirety during today’s Xbox Partner Preview showcase, and it was disclosed that the bundle is currently accessible on Xbox.
The triple pack has reportedly been “refined” for consoles, and the trilogy does appear quite well-polished thanks to the backward compatibility features in play.
ORIGINAL STORY
Several Japanese retailers, including Biccamera, Neowing, and Rakuten Books, have opened pre-orders for an undisclosed S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy for PlayStation 4.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat are the three games in the Stalker Legends of the Zone Trilogy and it will go on sale in Japan on June 27 for 6,578 yen (a $40 bundle). And this marks the first time that the survival horror first-person shooter series will make its way to consoles.
While the current listings and Stalker Legends of the Zone Trilogy pre-orders focus on a PlayStation release, there is speculation that an announcement may occur during Xbox’s upcoming show, the Xbox Partner Preview Livestream on March 6. Furthermore, given the fact that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is compatible with both Xbox and PC systems and we have an Xbox Partner Preview, it’s probably safe to assume that news of both the new game and the trilogy port will be revealed tomorrow.
The translated listings for Stalker Legends of the Zone Trilogy provide the following information:
"The first console port of the survival horror FPS 'STALKER' series, which has sold over 15 million copies worldwide, is finally here! Set in an open world around the Chernobyl nuclear power plant ruins recreated based on on-site interviews, the 'A-Life' system allows NPCs to act independently, food, medical supplies, weapons, etc. The legendary trilogy of the 'STALKER' series, which is still supported by many fans due to the implementation of pioneering FPS elements such as resource management and ammunition, is now in one collection! "Several years after another large explosion of unknown cause occurs at the site of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, the contaminated area is inhabited by mutated creatures. It became an unknown area called the 'Zone.' What awaits you at the end of your quest for survival? "In order to survive this dangerous land as a true stalker, constant exploration is essential. Well, the prospect of getting PS4 games in one single Stalker Legends of the Zone Trilogy is a strange but exciting development, and fans are more than happy with the news.
As for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, the first sequel in the series, is slated for release on Xbox Series and PC platforms via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG on September 5. It will be accessible through Xbox Game Pass as well. And the prospect of it being part of tomorrow’s Xbox Partner Preview is quite exciting for the fans.
