Void Interactive, the Ready or Not developers, have fallen victim to a significant data breach resulting in the theft of over 4TB of data.
Due to the developer’s continuous release of updates and enhancements, Ready Or Not is among the most popular FPS games in 2024. With 1.5 million views on Twitch on the first day of its release, VOID Interactive’s debut game, Ready or Not, topped the charts. However, unfortunately, amidst its success, the studio has now fallen prey to data breaches.
According to a recent Insider Gaming report, Void Interactive became the target of a significant data breach that resulted in the theft of over 4TB of data, including over 2.1 million files.
Based on the report, all of the Ready or Not source code is contained in this data. It also contains the results of multiple performance tests and codes for what seem to be console builds of the game. According to Insider Gaming, they were provided with images depicting the game running on a PlayStation 4 test kit, utilizing builds obtained from the breach. Additionally, data for builds on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 were also found.
Fortunately, the breach seems to have focused solely on the game itself, with no apparent impact on the personal information of Void’s players or staff members.
Well, back in March, the unnamed ransom group announced that it had access to the data. Despite this announcement, Void Interactive has not publicly addressed any breaches or issues with Ready or Not since then.
Regarding the authenticity of the breach, Insider Gaming asserts that they have reviewed the contents of the compromised files. However, as of now, Void Interactive has not released any official statements regarding the incident.
