HBO’s The Last of Us Season 2: Confirmed for 2025 Release

HBO’s The Last of Us Season 2 is confirmed to release in 2025. The company has confirmed this based on its filming schedule.

The filming of the new season was initially set to take place in January 2024, but got pushed back to February 20, 2024, due to Pedro Pascal’s busy schedule. It isn’t expected to wrap until September 9, 2024.

Pedro Pascal’s filming schedule includes Gladiator 2, Fantastic Four, and The Mandalorian, which led to the delay in the filming of The Last of Us Season 2.

It’s currently unclear when the already suggested Season 3 will begin filming and release.

In a revelation by GQ magazine, Druckmann confirmed that Season 2 will span more than one season, indicating a large game plan for the series.

The first season of HBO’s adaptation of The Last of Us was a huge success, with the first episode premiering at 4.7 million viewers on the first day. The series averaged 32 million viewers per episode, surpassing previous viewer ratings week over week.
