Animation studio Illumination is reportedly preparing a pitch for Nintendo to create a shared cinematic universe with multiple spinoffs.
The proposed plan will culminate in an Avengers inspired Super Smash Bros movie. The success of the recent Super Mario Bros movie suggests more collaborations between Illumination and Nintendo.
It was previously assumed that Illumination would be working on an animated movie. However, CEO Chris Meledandri stated that no Zelda movies were in the works at the time.
If Nintendo agrees to the shared cinematic universe, a movie based on The Legend of Zelda would likely happen prior to a Super Smash Bros film.
