Marvel's Wolverine Leaks Possible Following Insomniac Games Cyber Attack

Following a cyber attack on developer Insomniac Games, leaks tied to the upcoming PlayStation 5 game, Marvel’s Wolverine, may appear online.

A ransomware group known as Rhysida has claimed to have successfully hacked Insomniac Games, gaining details tied to Marvel’s Wolverine and various employees at the company.

Rhysida has threatened to publish all the materials gained from the hack in seven days and is hosting an auction for the materials, starting at the equivalent of $2M in Bitcoin.

A representative from PlayStation stated they are aware of the reports and are currently investigating the situation, with no reason to believe that any other Sony divisions have been impacted.

Cyber attacks resulting in major leaks tied to various video games have become more common over the past few years, with the substantial leak associated with Grand Theft Auto VI in 2022 being a notable example.

It remains to be seen what happens with this ordeal involving Insomniac, but updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
