Netflix's The Witcher begins work on Season 5.

Netflix’s The Witcher has started pre-production on Season 4 and Season 5. The production is taking place at Longcross Studios in the United Kingdom. Netflix plans to produce both seasons back-to-back.

The writing for The Witcher Season 4 is essentially finished, paving the way for Season 5’s writing process to begin. The plan to film Season 4 and Season 5 back-to-back is still in place.

The chances of Season 4 releasing before the end of 2024 are slim. However, the production team is trying to give itself the best chance possible given the circumstances.

There’s a lot of speculation about The Witcher Season 4 due to significant changes, such as Henry Cavill leaving the show and Liam Hemsworth’s introduction as Geralt.

Executive Producer Tomek Baginski believes that the source novels will provide a lot of answers for fans. He also hinted that Season 4 would be consistent with the books, but might be interpreted differently by the audience.

On the gaming side, The Witcher 4 is currently in development by CD Projekt Red. The game director, Sebastian Kalemb, discussed the challenge of balancing the needs of new fans from the TV show and long-time players.
