A recent Overwatch 2 leak has revealed an upcoming Mythic skin for the support hero Moira, expected to launch in Season 9. This new cosmetic gives Moira an eldritch horror-inspired look, piquing the interest of fans as Season 8 nears its end.
The leaked skin presents Moira with an ominous vibe, covered in thorny vines and veins. Her iconic Biotic Grasp takes on an otherworldly appearance with large imposing claws, and ‘Sauron’-like eyes replace her Healing and Damage Orbs. This sinister design aligns with the “corrupted” Mythic skins released so far, such as Zeus Junker Queen and Cybergoth Zarya.
Overwatch 2 Season 9 is expected to begin on February 13, 2024. The premium Battle Pass will likely cost 1000 Overwatch Coins. Players can unlock Moira’s Mythic skin instantly with the 20-tier headstart or earn it at Tier 80.
Mythic skins are highly coveted cosmetics in Overwatch 2, featuring special animations, visual effects, customization options, and more. They are granted as Tier 80 rewards on premium Battle Passes. Past Mythic skins include Demon Hunter Genji, Wyvern Hunter Angela, and Gorgon Widowmaker.
Based on Moira’s leaked skin, she will likely have multiple helmet and weapon variations as well as recolor options.
While Blizzard has not officially revealed details about Season 9 yet, we can speculate based on the Moira skin leaks. The eldritch and horror inspirations suggest a darker mystical theme for the season. Developers have hinted at upcoming themes like alternate realities and Egyptian mythology, which would align well with these aesthetics.
