Sony’s representatives confirmed at CES 2024 that the script for the live-action adaptation of “God of War” is now being written.
Sony has had great success in bringing PlayStation franchises to life on the big screen, with brands like “Uncharted” and “The Last of Us” being a hit with fans.
Katherine Pope, the President of Sony Pictures Television, also highlighted that the “Horizon Zero Dawn” production at Netflix is currently being written.
Many modern PlayStation-exclusive games are like interactive movies, featuring near-unbroken flows, cinematics, and top-notch voice acting.
Writing is underway on two new IP-based projects: “God of War” for Prime Video and “Horizon Zero Dawn” at Netflix. These are coming along with other highly anticipated series, including the fourth season of “The Boys”, and the final season of “Cobra Kai”.
Fans are left to wonder who will assume the starring roles for these productions. Will the role of Kratos be handed to the likes of Dwayne Johnson, or will it be Christopher Judge who reprises his performance of the legendary Spartan?
