Remembering James McCaffrey: The Voice Behind Max Payne Passes 

James McCaffrey, renowned for voicing the character Max Payne in the video games of the same name, has passed away at the age of 65.

McCaffrey’s death was due to a battle with cancer, as reported by TMZ.

McCaffrey voiced Payne in three games over his career, with the last being Max Payne 3 in 2012. He had a successful 35-year career in television and film.

McCaffrey’s friend and fellow actor Kevin Dillon was the first to report the actor’s death via an Instagram post, expressing his grief and stating that McCaffrey will be missed.

As of now, Remedy Entertainment, the developers of the original Max Payne games and the upcoming remakes of the first two games, has not released a statement on McCaffrey’s passing.
