Bandai Namco announced that Eddy Gordo will be the first DLC character in Tekken 8, set to be released in spring 2024.
Eddy will be followed by three more characters, to be released in the summer, autumn, and winter.
Eddy, initially appearing in Tekken 3, is known for his elaborate capoeira kicks. While some fans enjoy this, others find his ability to spam these kicks makes him an annoying character to fight against.
Tekken 7 launched with 36 characters but added 14 more over four seasons of DLC. It’s likely that Eddy will be the first of many fighters added to Tekken 8.
Tekken 8 will be released on January 26 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. A demo for the game, released in December, is still available for free download.
The game will include a new single-player Arcade Quest mode, where players create an avatar and visit different digital arcades to participate in matches, aiming to become the world’s top player.
