There is news coming out that an uncharted sequel seems pretty close, according to Mark Wahlberg. Even though they haven’t officially announced a sequel to the 2022 movie, producer Charles Roven mentioned this summer that the studio is for sure planning to make another film in the series. This isn’t unexpected because the first Uncharted movie made a lot of money, around $400 million globally, and it only cost about $120 million to make.

Uncharted 2 Script Has Been Written
Mark Wahlberg shared in an interview that a script for Uncharted 2 is in the works while he was talking about his new movie, The Family Plan. He mentioned that they’re still figuring out the script and have lots of ideas for the story.
Mark said “I’ve heard lots of different ideas. I know somebody’s written a script, and they’re still working on it.”
One element to be included is the presence of facial hair on his character. He said “it would consist of having the mustache the whole entire time. Which completely makes sense; obviously, in that final scene, I have the mustache.”
“When I finally got the mustache, people really appreciated it. And it was a nice tag to the end of that film,” he continued.
He concluded by saying that if the sequel can be improved compared to the first movie, which got 40% approval from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, then he’s willing to consider coming back:
