Nintendo has continuously produced well-received products in the form of Amiibo. Nintendo’s toys sell out quickly because of how swiftly they are produced. Because of this, re-releases of previous Amiibo that are going back into production are equally as eagerly awaited as Nintendo’s new Amiibo releases. Now, according to a recent leak, 2024 will see the release of some new Splatoon 3 amiibo.
New Splatoon 3 Amiibo Details Revealed by New Nintendo Leak
Recent findings from Splatoon 3 data mines suggest that two gear sets connected to undisclosed Amiibo figures are on the horizon. The details behind this discovery were shared by @ashbinary_ on Twitter/X.
These Splatoon 3 amiibo are expected to be released in 2024 if the leak is to be believed. However, Nintendo has not yet revealed any figures based on the game.
If the most recently released Deep Cut figures are any indication, Splatoon is a series that receives a lot of amiibo love, even though Nintendo’s amiibo production isn’t as widespread as it was during the Wii U period. So, considering the upcoming Splatoon 3’s Side Order DLC release in spring 2024, a simultaneous Amiibo launch similar to Splatoon 2’s Octo Expansion seems logical.
The Side Order DLC, which is scheduled for release in the spring of 2024, is set in the universe where Team Order won in the Order vs. Chaos Splatfest, with Pearl and Marina from Off the Hook playing significant roles in the narrative. Thus, we may see Splatoon 3 amiibo inspired by Acht or based on Pearl and Marina’s new designs.
Take this with a grain of salt, though, as you should with any leaked information. Although datamines usually provide correct information about content releases, it’s equally possible that the information is dummy or placeholder and is subject to change by Nintendo.
Currently, Nintendo has unveiled three new Amiibo sets scheduled for 2024. On January 19th, a duo of Xenoblade Chronicles 3-based Amiibo featuring characters Noah and Mio will be released. Following that, on February 16th, the final figure from the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate line, Sora from Kingdom Hearts, will hit the shelves.
Nine years have passed since the initial wave of amiibo went on sale, and Nintendo is still releasing new figures in its amiibo series. Therefore, it will be interesting to see which new Splatoon 3 amiibo will be launched in the near future.
