Early footage of upcoming Helldivers 2 vehicles has been revealed by new leaks, along with videos on new mechs and weapons, backup infantry, and more.
Even though we’ve been aware of the introduction of mechs into the game, other Helldivers 2 vehicles have remained undisclosed. That is until videos showing brand-new Stratagems—like mechs, armed jeeps, and backup infantry—started making the rounds on the internet.
A leaked video, shared by GameOverDeo on YouTube, provides a closer look at a few upcoming Helldivers 2 vehicles, weapons, and mechs. The gameplay footage reveals various features, and you can check it out below:
The community has drawn comparisons between one of the vehicles, operated by one player with another on a machine gun, and the Warthog from Halo.
Additionally, user JayTechTV (@TheRealJTV4K60) shared video footage of the Recon Vehicle, a playable Helldivers 2 vehicle, on Twitter in a series of posts. The JayTechTV video, which surfaced soon after the most recent Helldivers 2 update, had three players working together to use a stratagem beacon to call forth a Recon Vehicle that resembled a truck. This Hellduivers 2 vehicle accommodates at least three Helldivers, with one driving, another manning a rotating machine gun turret, and a third occupying a front passenger seat and the player situated in the passenger seat has the option to shoot by leaning out of the car window.
The footage seems to only partially incorporate the Recon Vehicle model as the car’s engine, wheels, and weaponry were mute and several of its parts lacked textures, indicating that the necessary sound effects were still missing from the game files. Still, it could be driven and operated normally.
In addition to the forthcoming mechs and Helldivers 2 vehicles, details about new weapons have surfaced, largely due to leaks that have since been removed. Although the posts have been removed, it appears like several of the PS4 game’s original weapons will be making a comeback, along with a possible crossbow and plasma shotgun to challenge the greatest Helldivers 2 weapon, which might be exempt from the next balance patch.
Well, initially believed to be the result of cheaters gaining early access, broader reports now indicate that these new reinforcements are part of a larger plan. The release date for the new update remains uncertain, but a statement from a staff member in the game’s discord indicates that the Helldivers 2 mechs have been ready for deployment for a while, hinting at a potential sooner-than-expected arrival.
Arrowhead Game Studios has witnessed remarkable success with Helldivers 2, prompting the team to increase server capacity to accommodate up to 700,000 players. And with such new fascinating features coming its way, it seems like the devs will have to increase the capacity even more.
