Ubisoft released a free shooting game called XDefiant almost two months ago, and it got a lot of attention at first. And while the initial hype has settled, Ubisoft is gearing up for new updates to keep players engaged.

According to dataminers who dig through the game’s files, one exciting addition in the pipeline is XDefiant anime-themed skins.

In XDefiant, players can enhance their experience by purchasing cosmetic items like operator skins and weapon camouflages through microtransactions. This model helps fund the game’s ongoing development and is common in modern gaming.

Now, dataminers have uncovered evidence suggesting that Ubisoft plans to introduce anime skins into XDefiant. According to the most recent leaks from @TxLim_ and @ubileaksdotorg, skins with an anime theme are in development and there is some info related to them in the in-game files.

For example, files reveal a potential skin featuring a purple-haired anime character on an AA-12 shotgun.

Moreover, other leaks also hint at upcoming features like custom games and a potential free-for-all mode, which will change how gamers play the game.

A person named @TxLim_ found these changes in the game’s code. They found that more custom games are being developed and the game could have things like countdowns, rules for competitive games, player kicks, and other new features that make the game more fun. They also found code for a “streakleader,” which might mean a free-for-all (FFA) mode is coming to the game.

While specifics on the release date remain unclear, fans are curious whether these Xdefiant skins and modes will be part of official collaborations or unique creations for the game. However, only an official announcement can clarify these doubts.

But if the leaks are true, these anime skins can add a new layer of customization to the popular shooter game.
