Reports indicate that Shurmur will be joining the Buffaloes as an offensive analyst, becoming the second former NFL head coach to join Sanders’ staff, following Mike Zimmer’s appointment at Jackson State last year.

Shurmur, who most recently served as the offensive coordinator for the Denver Broncos, brings a wealth of experience to the role. With a checkered NFL coaching record, including stints with the New York Giants and Cleveland Browns, Shurmur will aim to make a positive impact on Colorado’s offensive strategy.

Pat Shurmur Joins Colorado as Offensive Analyst

In addition to his extensive NFL background, Pat Shurmur brings over 20 years of experience and play-calling expertise to his role as an offensive analyst at the University of Colorado.

Working alongside offensive coordinator Sean Lewis, who recently joined the Buffaloes after serving as the head coach at Kent State, Shurmur’s wealth of knowledge will undoubtedly benefit the team.

Shurmur previously earned recognition as the AP NFL Assistant Coach of the Year in 2017 during his tenure as offensive coordinator with the Minnesota Vikings, where they made it to the NFC Championship.

While this will be his first venture into collegiate coaching since his time at Michigan State from 1988 to 1997, where he served as a graduate assistant and held various coaching positions, Shurmur’s expertise is highly anticipated.

Sanders Revitalizes Colorado Football

Deion Sanders, known for his high-energy approach, was hired by Colorado in December to breathe new life into the football program. With an impressive track record of 27-5 over three seasons at Jackson State, Sanders aims to revitalize the team.

Currently, he is restructuring the roster, which has resulted in 18 players entering the transfer portal, while generating enthusiasm for the program’s future.

In April, Colorado’s spring game drew a crowd of 47,277, surpassing the combined attendance of the last nine spring games. Additionally, Bernie Sanders faced health problems, undergoing surgery in late June to treat two blood clots in his legs, with concerns about the potential amputation of his foot.
