New Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Leaks About the Perks System
The main source of these leaks is TheGhostofHope, a dedicated Call of Duty Player and a leaker on Twitter as well. He is a reliable source of information as the details released in the past by him have turned out to be accurate.
On March 13, he posted a thread of tweets on Twitter. Here he confirmed some features of the game which were still rumors till now. Also, he brought out multiple aspects of the game’s multiplayer option that no one knew before.
Arguably the most important of these is surrounding the Perks system. Till now, players were only allowed to choose 3. But this time in CoD Modern Warfare 2, it will be 4 perks.
TheGhostofHope said in the tweet that he was ‘Not giving details on specific perks,’ but was discussing the way the perk system would work: ‘the way MWII is approaching perks is that you can choose 4 PERKS.’ He explained the meaning of this: ‘This means you get to choose 2 in the first column. 1 in the second column. 1 in the third column.’ Describing the first column more specifically, he said, ‘From what I was told the first column is more of choosing your playstyle.’
Following up on this thread to clarify any doubts that might have arisen on CoD Modern Warfare 2 perks, TheGhostofHope said, ‘You cannot change it to being 2 perks being able to be chosen in a different column. It’s ONLY 2 perks in the first column.’

One more piece of information that reached us about the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Perk system is that in the upcoming title, perks are not required for the players to acquire a minimap. In real life (or game), this means that unsilenced weapons now show up as red dots for everybody. “Classic Minimap is indeed present in Modern Warfare II,” they said. “No perk necessary.”
