Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic Remake PS5 – Details
One of the leading developers and publishers of the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake is Aspyr. Together with Sony, they announced the return of this classic title to the gaming world and help kick things off at PlayStation Showcase with a new Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake trailer.
Given that the original game itself was pretty much perfect, what more could the developers bring to the table to surprise the fans?
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic Remake PS5 – Features and Platform
Well, for starters, the game’s pseudo-turn-based fights will be designed to be more action-oriented. This news comes from the YouTuber MrMattyPlays. They claim that this Knights of the Old Republic remake is looking towards games like Nioh 2 and God of War for inspiration, according to their sources.
This is further proved by the open positions of Combat Designer and AI engineer at Aspyr.
The original version of the video game has been ported to mobile and Nintendo Switch platforms. But Knights of the Old Republic remake will be a PlayStation 5 and PC exclusive game at release.
However, since the original game was an Xbox exclusive at launch, it’s possible that it’ll soon come to other platforms too.
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic Remake PS5 – release date and storyline
One piece of disappointing news: it’s almost sure that the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake release date is not anywhere near. As excited as the community may be to play this game, it is understood that it’ll take time to bring out a masterpiece.
Talking about the Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic remake storyline, Star Wars is, by definition, a political story and although its prequel films were initially panned due to their significant political overtones in comparison to the original trilogy, many of us have come to understand how they fit into the overall storyline.
Just like the original game, Revan travels throughout many worlds in the Star Wars universe while being entangled in political intrigue from Korriban to Kashyyyk in Knights of the Old Republic as well. If we are to compare, then the long-running rivalry seen between Jedi and the Sith is also fundamentally political.
Clearly, the developers have plenty of Star Wars-specific politics to use for the next Knights of the Old Republic remake storyline. But it is also possible that Aspyr may wind up deleting the original message in its attempt to recreate Revan and his journey for a current audience with the KotOR remake.
Despite the fact that fans were overjoyed by the announcement, remakes are usually viewed with caution. That is because remakes like Resident Evil 3 and Secret of Mana have garnered mixed reviews and as a result, there are questions about how the Knights of the Old Republic remake will be approached, particularly with regard to Revan, the game’s renowned protagonist.
However, we will have to wait a while to see the efforts of developers on the upcoming Star Wars KotOR remake as it is still far away from its release. For the time being, get your controllers and consoles ready and be ready to bring you’re A-game with the launch of the Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic PS5 remake.
We will update you with the new information as soon as it comes out, so keep following Gamevro.
