Destiny Rising Launches August 28 on iOS and Android

Destiny fans can now gear up for a mobile adventure with Destiny Rising, launching globally on August 28, 2025.

Announced by NetEase Games and Bungie, this new RPG shooter brings the Destiny universe to iOS and Android in an alternate-timeline experience. Players can now pre-register for Destiny: Rising on the App Store and Google Play to receive in-game rewards at launch. This mobile entry into the Destiny series is free-to-play and available through both the App Store and Google Play.

Destiny: Rising isn’t just a port of Destiny 2. Instead, it’s a fresh story set after the Dark Age, with some familiar faces like Ikora Rey and Iron Lord Jolder. However, the biggest twist is the introduction of a new customizable character, Wolf, a Lightbearer with a completely unique backstory.

Unlike in Destiny 2, players won’t be crafting their own Guardians here—they’ll select from pre-designed heroes or jump into the game as Wolf.

Classic Destiny Action, Now On Mobile

Despite being a mobile game, Destiny Rising sticks close to its roots. Players will take part in strike missions, campaign-style PvE missions, and six-player co-op encounters. For those who enjoy competition, PvP game modes are also included. The game supports both first-person and third-person views, letting players experience combat their way.

The trailer showcases fast-paced battles, hero abilities, a wide variety of weapons, and an exciting rogue-like solo mode. There’s also a clan system for teaming up with friends, and party customization for casual multiplayer fun. The developers promise that Destiny Rising is built to offer both challenge and fun for veteran Destiny players and newcomers alike.

Though Rising is a standalone game, it draws heavily from the Destiny universe’s style, weapons, and design. It’s not connected to Destiny 2’s current storyline, but offers a new narrative path for fans who want more from the franchise—especially on mobile.

As August 28 nears, more details about upcoming features and rewards are expected to roll out, keeping excitement high.
