Genshin Impact 2.8 banners are something that fans have eagerly been waiting for, and new leaks have revealed the possible banner characters and the phases that they will release in.
One of the most important and interesting features of Genshin Impact, the action role-playing game developed and published by miHoYo, is the constantly expanding roster of characters that the title sports. Each new update always has something to add to this roster.
An update has two banner cycles. In total, there can either be one of two new 5-star characters or three 4-star characters. And after this banner cycle comes to an end, there is a long waiting period for players to go through before they get the opportunity to pull for 5-star characters like these again.
Now a recent leak has revealed that in the upcoming update, players are going to see two popular characters getting their Genshin Impact 2.8 banner reruns.

Genshin Impact 2.8 banners leak
The developers have not announced anything regarding the new 5-star character in Genshin Impact 2.8 banner as of now. This probably means that the next update, which is version 2.8, will give us two banner re-runs.
There is a famous Genshin Impact leaker, going by the appellation SaveYourPrimos, who has revealed that it is the Kazuha banner and Yoimiya banner that might be the ones featuring in the Genshin Impact 2.8 banners.
Hence as per the leaks, the upcoming Genshin Impact 2.8 banners include:
- Kazuha rerun
- Klee rerun
- Yoimiya rerun
Now adding to this, Lumie, who has established oneself as a credible leaker, has released new information on both the first and second Genshin Impact 2.8 banners, as well as the weapon banners.

Genshin Impact 2.8 banners – Phase 1 and 2 characters leak
Klee and Kazuha will be part of phase 1 of Genshin Impact 2.8 banners, according to Lumie. This means that in Phase 1 of the Genshin 2.8 banners, Klee and Kazuha will be 5-star characters, while the Yoimiya rerun will be offered in Phase 2.
“[2.8] Klee and Kazuha first half w/ Lost Prayer + Freedom Sworn”, said the leaker in their tweet.
As per the report, phase 1 of the Genshin 2.8 update features two banners, and Heizou might also appear in phase 1 of the 2.8 banners because he is a 4-star character.
As per Lumie, we will get Kazuha’s signature 5-star weapon during the first half of the 2.8 patch update, and after that Yoimiya’s signature will be a part of 2nd half of the event wish banner. In addition, five other 4-star weapons will see a significant increase in drop rates.
As revealed by the leakers, players will get the following 5-star weapons on Genshin Impact 2.8 weapon banner:
- Lost Prayer
- Freedom Sworn
- Thundering Pulse

Genshin Impact 2.8 banner characters
Kaedehara Kazuha
Kaedehara Kazuha is a 5-star Anemo character and one of the strongest support in Genshin Impact, if not the strongest. And this makes him one of the most desired characters in the game’s community presently. He was released way back in version 1.6, meaning the last time he came on a banner was more than a year ago, hence, there is quite a lot of craze for Kazuha rerun.
When he was released, it was considered that he was like a weaker version of the famous Anemo Archon Venti. But that opinion totally turned itself upside down and as the meta shifted, Kazuha proved himself to be more powerful than even Venti, especially in what is said to be one of the most demanding parts of the game, the famous Spiral Abyss.
If we are to believe the leaks then Kazuha rerun will definitely be a part of Genshin Impact 2.8 banners.
Yoimiya
As for Yoimiya, it was in Genshin Impact update 2.0 that she was introduced into the game. This happened alongside the release of the popular Cryo sword user, Kamisato Ayaka. Just as in the case of Kazuha, at first, there wasn’t a lot of noise about the arrival of this character in the picture. The major reason for this was probably that in the same update, the developers had decided also to include the release of a major new region named Inazuma.
Yoimiya is a Pyro bow user and currently, she is one of the strongest DPS characters in the entire Genshin Impact character roster. There is a major focus on single target damage in her playstyle.

Shikanoin Heizou
Coming back to the upcoming Genshin Impact 2.8 update, there are going to be no new 5-star characters to be introduced in this update. But the official Genshin Impact social media accounts have already posted that there is going to be the release of a four-star character called Shikanoin Heizou in this update.
A mysterious detective from the land of Inazuma, it is expected that Heizou will be on the update’s first banner. This character’s weapon of choice is the catalyst and he is the first male character in Genshin Impact to have this weapon type. And recent gameplay leaks tell us that Heizou is going to be a new four-star Anemo DPS character.
