GTA Focal reported that the GTA 5 source code was first leaked through a message on Discord. The message had a link to download the GTA 5 source code, but it was removed quickly. However, people who got the link have shared it through a download link on Tor, a browser often used to share data anonymously on the dark web. Now that the GTA 5 Source Code is out there, it’s likely to spread further on the internet.
The leaked code reveals interesting details, including a file related to Bully 2, a rumored sequel to the popular action-adventure game of 2008. Additionally, it contains an early map for GTA 5 and a script confirming that GTA 6 was previously codenamed “Project Americas.“
The GTA 5 source code was taken by a teenager using a mobile device in a hotel room last year. It includes early conceptual materials from GTA 5, including an early version of the game’s map, as well as a screenshot of new Python code from GTA 6.
GTA 6 is supposed to come out in 2025 and will be based in a fictional version of Miami called Vice City. But now, due to the recent leak, some of the surprise elements of the game have been spoiled. He warned that references to Bully 2 and Project Americas are in the leaked GTA 5 source code. We don’t know the full extent of the damage yet, but this is really bad news for Rockstar.
