As we know, Nintendo is planning to make a movie based on its popular game, The Legend of Zelda. And now, Sony recently shared updates about the upcoming Legend Of Zelda movie during its CES 2024 press conference, which is happening from January 9 to 12 in Las Vegas.
At the CES press meeting, the CEO of Sony, casually mentioned that they were working with Nintendo on the upcoming Zelda movie. This surprised everyone there.
At the press event, Sony’s CEO Kenichiro Yoshida shared, that The Legend of Zelda movie, based on Nintendo’s intellectual property, is set to unfold “an amazing tale of adventure and discovery”.
Yoshida then shifted the focus to other highly anticipated Sony Pictures projects, including Venom 3.
For now, all we know is that Sony and Nintendo are collaborating on a live-action movie based on the popular video game series, The Legend of Zelda.
Nintendo and Arad Productions Inc. are jointly producing the movie, with Wes Ball as the director. Nintendo is contributing more than 50% of the financing, and Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. will handle worldwide theatrical distribution.
The company has chosen Wes Ball, the director of Maze Runner and the upcoming Planet of the Apes movie, to lead the project. Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of Zelda, will be a producer along with Hollywood veteran Avi Arad.
The positive words from Sony about The Legend of Zelda movie are influenced by its significant involvement and investment in the project.
