Next PlayStation State of Play Expected Mid-February, Says Insider

Industry insider NateTheHate has hinted that the next PlayStation State of Play might drop around mid-February 2025.

That timing makes sense since Sony has held similar events around this time before. While nothing is official yet, the hype is real. Could we see some huge game reveals or exciting updates? Let’s break down this rumor and see what might be coming our way.

NateTheHate’s Next PlayStation State of Play Expected Mid-February

So, in mid-January 2025, a well-known industry insider, NateTheHate, hinted that the next PlayStation State of Play would happen in February.

When a fan asked if it would be early, mid, or late in the month, Nate gave a mysterious answer: “What does your heart tell you?” That got people thinking.

Since Valentine’s Day is all about hearts and falls on February 14, many believe he was dropping a subtle hint that the event will happen around then. It’s a clever way to tease fans without actually giving a straight-up answer.

Speculated Date for Next State of Play 2025

Sony usually picks certain days for its State of Play events, and looking at past ones, they mostly happen on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays.

One thing that stands out—no events on Fridays. This shows that Sony likes mid-week time slots, probably because that’s when they can get the most attention from the media and gamers.

Based on the insider tip about a mid-February 2025 window and knowing Sony’s usual schedule, the next PlayStation State of Play will likely happen on one of these dates:

  • February 11–13 (Tuesday to Thursday)
  • February 18–19 (Tuesday and Wednesday)

These dates match Sony’s usual schedule for events and fit the mid-February timing that insiders have hinted at.

Sony usually gives pretty short notice for State of Play events. They often let people know only a couple of days before the show.

So, if the next event is happening the week of February 18, we can expect them to announce it by February 17 at the latest. That’s about how they usually do things, giving everyone enough time to get ready.

Predicted Games Lineup for State of Play February 2025

While Sony hasn’t shared the official list yet, we can guess which games will be there.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach

First up, we’ve got Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. This game from Kojima Productions is set to drop in 2025. Even though we don’t know the exact date, it’s already confirmed internally. So, there’s a good chance we’ll get to see some new footage or updates during the State of Play.

Ghost of Yotei

Then, there’s Ghost of Yotei, the sequel to Ghost of Tsushima. Fans are super excited about this one, especially since it was announced just a few months ago in September 2024. It seems likely that we’ll finally get to see more about the game, whether it’s gameplay or story details.

Fairgame$

And don’t forget Fairgame$, from Haven Studios. This one hasn’t been shown off much since its reveal in 2023, but since it’s part of Sony’s lineup, there’s a good chance we’ll get some fresh info or gameplay during the event.

All in all, NateTheHate, who’s in the know, is saying that the next PlayStation State of Play could happen around Valentine’s Day 2025. But like with all rumors, we should just hang tight and wait for Sony to confirm it.
