Xbox fans will be happy to hear that Persona 6 is being developed for the Xbox platforms, according to a reputable industry insider.
Over the history of the Persona series, creator Atlus has mostly opted to only publish new games on PlayStation consoles, with very few ever appearing on Xbox platforms. However, according to a known industry insider Nate the Hate, that might be about to change.
Nate claims to have insider information indicating that Persona 6 is currently under development for Xbox, in addition to PlayStation. While he admits uncertainty about whether the Xbox release will coincide with the PlayStation launch, he speculates that it’s likely, given recent trends in the series.
Nate stated, “From the information I’ve heard, it does seem that Persona 6 will be coming to the Xbox. I’m not 100% sure if it [will be] day-and-date with the PlayStation version, but considering the way the Persona games have been day-and-date with the multiplatform releases at this point, it may be a safe assumption to make”.
It’s important to note that these comments are based on rumors and nothing has been officially confirmed. However, the possibility of Xbox securing a Persona 6 release isn’t entirely new. In November 2023, a comment from Sega during an investor report hinted at the potential benefits of a multi-platform release strategy for Persona 6, suggesting that it could lead to increased sales, potentially reaching 5 million copies sold in the first year.
Sega said, “We believe that it would be possible for a major Persona title, such as a numbered release, to sell 5 million copies in its first year by releasing it on multiple platforms and simultaneously worldwide from day one.” Although it doesn’t explicitly state so, this seems to indicate that Persona 6 will be multi-platform when it launches.
Also, in August 2023, Nick Baker—who has previously provided several reliable leaks—stated that Persona 6 will launch on Xbox on day 1.
Well, Atlus has seen remarkable success with the Persona series in recent years. And prior to last year, the series had only made two appearances on Xbox with Persona 4 Arena and Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, which were released in 2012 and 2014, respectively.
Regarding Persona 6 itself, there have been several rumors circulating about this highly anticipated sequel, suggesting that it will maintain the high school setting and is not expected until 2026. However, it’s important to remember that these are all rumors at this point, and we’ll need official confirmation to know for sure.
