Sony really likes to bring back their old games, and many other video game companies do too. Remasters seem to be a way to bring a game back without spending a lot of money on creating a completely new one. In January, Sony is planning to release The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered for the PS5. However, a new rumor also reports that PlayStation is planning to bring back the first three God of War games, which were originally released on the PS2 and PS3. These games include the 2005 God of War, the 2008 God of War, and the 2010 God of War III.
The information about this rumor comes from Nick Baker, who usually knows a lot about games. Let’s know more in detail.
PS5 to Remaster God of War Games
In the latest live podcast on YouTube, Nick shared some exciting news. He mentioned that there’s a chance we might see a remastered version of the original God of War trilogy. During the podcast, he and his co-host, Jeff Grub, seemed really happy about the idea of having the classic God of War games remastered.
Baker mentioned, “We might be getting the OG God of War trilogy remastered.”
Nick seems to be pretty much sure about this leak. He said, “Now, I’m not 100 percent sure if it will be announced in 2024 and released in 2024 or released in 2025… that part I’m not clear on, but what I have heard is the OG God of War Trilogy remaster”.
However, Nick didn’t know much more about this rumored remaster. He wasn’t sure if it would be exactly the same as what we had on the PS3, or if it would be a more significant upgrade with updated controls and stuff like that.
Is the Rumor True?
Is the rumor true? Well, it might be. Sometimes, Baker gives us info, but he’s been wrong before. That happens when you deal with rumors. This is the first time we’ve heard about this, and there haven’t been any earlier rumors about it. It’s a bit more likely because PlayStation is getting really popular.
Next year, in 2024, we’re not expecting a lot, so that might help calm things down. But, right now, nobody from PlayStation or Santa Monica Studios has said anything about this rumor. We don’t think that will change, but if it does, we’ll tell you the latest. Stay tuned.
