Rumor: Microsoft’s Next Xbox Clears Initial Development Hurdle

Microsoft’s next Xbox is officially in the works, and it’s past the early planning stages. According to insiders, the project has been fully approved, meaning Microsoft is serious about bringing a new console to life.

So, what does this mean for the future of gaming? Let’s take a closer look!

Jez Corden’s Report on Microsoft’s Next Xbox Development

Looks like Microsoft is moving full speed ahead with its next-gen Xbox. According to Jez Corden from Windows Central, the console is no longer just an idea—it’s officially been given the green light, with a budget and everything.

Corden said, “To that end, I’ve recently been told that Xbox’s next-gen console hardware has now moved past its early pitch stages and has been fully approved and costed all the way up the chain.”

Basically, this means the project has all the approvals and funding it needs. We don’t know much about the features or when it’s coming out, but this is a big step toward making it a reality.

Microsoft’s Vision for the Next Xbox Console

Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox, has big plans for the next Xbox, and it’s all about making it stand out.

Right now, most gaming consoles feel pretty similar, and he wants to change that. Instead of just boosting power, he’s thinking outside the box—maybe even making handheld devices.

He’s also looking into cool tech like AI to make gaming smoother and more exciting, kind of like what Nvidia, AMD, and Sony are doing. The goal is to go beyond just regular consoles and create a gaming world where you can play Xbox games on all kinds of devices—PCs, phones, and more.

The next Xbox is expected to build on the cool features of the Xbox Series X, like Quick Resume and super-fast load times. But this time, games might run even smoother, with frame rates possibly hitting 120 FPS.

Xbox isn’t just a console anymore; it’s becoming a whole gaming universe.

Phil Spencer has totally changed how Xbox works over the last two console generations. Instead of worrying so much about selling consoles, it put more energy into services.

Since regular console sales weren’t growing much, this was a smart move. Now, Microsoft is one of the biggest names in gaming, and reports say it made the most money in December 2024, even with some struggles in hardware sales.

Looking ahead, the next-gen Xbox is expected to bring even cooler features, like handheld gaming and AI-powered upgrades, showing that Microsoft isn’t slowing down when it comes to innovation.

However, we will have to wait for Microsoft’s official word to know the exact stage of development.
