According to rumors, Guerilla’s Horizon franchise is the “well-known” intellectual property that Sony and LEGO are collaborating on.
LEGO has been working with several video game franchises, with Animal Crossing from Nintendo being the most recent one. And now it appears that Sony and LEGO will be collaborating for one of their iconic IPs, the Horizon franchise.
A notable leaker, Kurakasis said earlier today that “Sony is preparing something in collaboration with Lego,” stating that an announcement is “expected soon” and that it is “related” to a popular series.
Shortly after Kurakasis’ tease, Tom Henderson, a highly trusted source according to the Gaming Leaks and Rumours subreddit community, echoed the claim, playfully adding “an announcement is on the horizon.”
In a follow-up tweet, Henderson explained his tease with, “But from what I know, there’s a Lego Horizon trailer that’s ready to go,” in a follow-up tweet after stating he wasn’t “particularly fond” of the “I know something, and you don’t obligatory vague insider BS.” Intriguingly, he also hinted at the possibility of an upcoming PlayStation showcase, lending credence to previous rumors.
It remains unclear whether this Sony and LEGO collaboration will result in a new game or an actual Lego bundle akin to previous Nintendo partnerships. Unfortunately, these questions remain unanswered, but perhaps we’ll receive more information at the yet-to-be-confirmed State of Play event later this month.
Numerous rumors have suggested a PlayStation Showcase scheduled for next week, and with the anticipated announcement of the LEGO collaboration, it’s plausible that it could be discussed during the event. However, until then, we’ll have to wait patiently and see how these rumors unfold.
As always with rumors, it’s important to approach them with skepticism. Nevertheless, Kurakasis has a track record of accurate leaks over the past year, lending some credibility to the speculation.
