Valorant PS5 Beta Seems Great and Fans Are Impressed with its Performance

Valorant, the popular PC game made by Riot Games, has been a huge success. It’s known for big esports tournaments and has inspired lots of fan art and cosplay. For years, people have wondered if it would come to consoles, and now, Riot has finally brought Valorant to PS5 in beta form.

It’s still early, but the PS5 version of the shooter game is already impressive. People have been excited about Valorant coming to consoles, and the beta on PS5 shows it’s something special compared to other console games. Here is all that we think about the Valorant PS5 version.

Valorant PS5 Version and Riot’s Efforts to Overcome the Precision Challenge

Valorant is a game where accuracy and teamwork are crucial. It’s a bit like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO), where two teams of five players compete in rounds. One team defends a bomb site while the other tries to plant and detonate a bomb, and the first team to win 13 rounds wins the game.

This type of game isn’t usually found on consoles. Something comparable was previously seen in 2012 with the release of the first CS:GO game on the PlayStation 3. That version of the game didn’t last long because of the two major problems:

  • One big problem was how hard it was to play with a controller. In CSGO, there wasn’t an auto-aim feature like most console FPS games have, so using a controller was really tough. Many PS3 players probably used a USB keyboard and mouse with CSGO, which the game supported.
  • Another issue was that updates for the game came out slowly, which might have made CSGO less popular on the PS3.

Hence, bringing a game like Valorant to consoles poses a challenge because consoles typically don’t offer the same precision as a mouse. However, Riot Games has done well in this field and has tackled the basic issues by making important changes to the game.

They introduced ‘Focus Mode’, where players can hold the left trigger to slow down their aiming. This has helped players aim more accurately and hit their targets more easily, while still being able to quickly react to threats from different directions.

Talking about, fine-tuning the settings as it plays an important role in getting more kills and winning rounds. Luckily, Riot kept a lot of customization options from the PC version for consoles. You can adjust sensitivity for different modes like Focus Mode, regular play, and aiming with scopes.

You can also personalize your crosshair color and style and switch your default movement speed from running to walking. There are more detailed options too, like choosing which hand holds your weapon based on your dominant eye, so you can see more of the screen.

You can change most button assignments, but it would be better if Riot allowed all buttons to be remapped. Some controller presets don’t let you change important actions like jumping, shooting, and using Focus Mode. For example, many presets don’t allow moving the walk button to L1 or R1, which would let you aim while moving quietly. Instead, these actions are often stuck on buttons like Cross, Circle, Square, and Triangle, which can be awkward.

Players Reception of the Valorant PS5 Beta Version

Despite a few small issues, the console version of Valorant’s beta has been well-received. Riot has put a lot of effort into making sure this version succeeds outside of PC. This isn’t a rushed job; it’s clear they’ve put a lot of care into it.

Players are praising the beta for how well the gameplay works on console, with many saying it’s just as good as on PC. They’re sharing positive feedback, videos of their gameplay, and impressive moments. The decision to keep controller players separate from keyboard and mouse users is also getting a lot of praise.
