Stars Wars is the number television show of all time or so argue its fans. Well, whatever the case may be, it cannot be denied it was one of the most popular and endearing shows. So it is no surprise that many video game titles have already been released on it.

Many people grew up watching Star Wars and they grew up with Legos and video games. As if to combine all these childhood fantasies in one package, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and TT Games had come up with the Lego Star Wars video game franchise. And the latest installment in this series is Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

After some initial delays, we’ve got a Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga release date. This title will be launching on the 5th of April, 2022. In addition, it has been announced that some Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga DLC packs will also be available to the players.

Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga DLC packs

Ahead of the video game’s launch, the developers have decided to include DLC (downloadable content, which is basically additional content that has to be bought online and then added to the game to improve some features) in it.

In all, seven Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga DLC packs have been announced, and each of these includes playable characters. Moreover, many of these characters are not present in the nine-film television series, reported Nintendo Everything. You can buy The Skywalker Saga DLC packs either with the Character Collection Season Pass or individually.

When the title launches there will be two packs up for purchase. They are packs that will contain characters from the very first season of Solo: A Star Wars Story and The Mandalorian.

The Solo: A Star Wars Story pack will contain the characters Enfys Nest, Qi’ra, Tobias Beckett, and the young versions of Lando Calrissian, Chewbacca, and Han Solo. And The Mandalorian pack will have the characters Kuiil, Cara Dune, IG-11, Greef Karga, and of course, the Mandalorian itself, and also a non-playable character, Grogu.

Some packs also available at launch are the Trooper and Classic Characters Packs, but these are subject to some conditions.

The Trooper pack will be an early-access gift to those who are pre-ordering the Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga digital version. It will become available for everyone on May 4 for acquiring through the season pass or buying it individually on. The Class Characters pack can be availed by people who have ‘early access from select retail partners.’ It becomes available to the general public on April 19, again either through the season pass or individual purchase.

On April 19, the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Character Pack will be released. This pack will include Director Krennic, Baze Malbu, Chirrut Imwe, K-2SO, Cassian Andor, Bodhi Rook, and Jyn Erso.

After that, finally, on the very special date of Star Wars Day, that is May 4, two more packs will be rolled out: Star Wars: The Bad Batch and The Mandalorian Season 2. The first pack will contain Echo, Crosshair, Tech, Wrecker, and Hunter. The second pack will include Moff Gideon, Fennec Shand, Bo Katan, Boba Fett, and Ahsoka Tano.

Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga Steam Deck incompatibility

Unfortunately, right now it appears that Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga is not going to be compatible with the new Steam Deck by Valve, at least at its launch. This title covers a lot of platforms but going by how things look right now, that is, looking at the update on the official Steam page, the title isn’t going to be compatible with Steam Deck.

But the listing does include the line that says that Valve is “still working” on adding support for the game. So even though the game can’t be played right now on Steam Deck, that doesn’t mean that it will remain like that.

Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga Gold

It has been confirmed that Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga has ‘gone gold,’ by TT Games, which is the jargon among developers meaning that the title is ready to begin shipping now. This news reaches us through Twitter. LEGO Star Wars Game posted a tweet saying that ‘#LEGOStarWarsGame has gone gold – cue the Throne Room Theme!’ They continued the tweet to congratulate their team for the truly humungous amount of work that went into the making of the game.

Since we are on the topic of gameplay, it is worth noting that recently, a video containing 40 minutes of Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga gameplay was leaked. However, since then, the video has been taken down. But a mirror of the video will be fairly easy to find on YouTube.

Possible accessibility options for Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga

TT Games expressed its concern about the importance of accessibility in video games and that they try to provide an experience that allows the largest number of players to enjoy the game.

The Family Video Game Database has put together a report that describes some accessibility options that players of Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga will have access to.

The game won’t have the usual ‘easy,’ ‘medium,’ and ‘hard’ modes. Instead, to make things easier for future gamers, features like automatic health recovery, aim to assist, and fall recovery are available.

For easy navigation of the environment, the waypoint arrows option is enabled by default and breadcrumb trails reveal quick paths to the destination. By default, the objectives are displayed at the top corners of the screen, but you will have an option to toggle that on and off. And visual prompts are provided in the game that helps the player decide which character will be needed to solve the current puzzle.

The report declares this game as motion sickness-friendly. Players can also mess around with the audio levels and make the most important sounds the loudest. In addition to this, there are multiple control options that allow us to remap the buttons on the controller, turn off controller vibrations, toggle sole keyboard play, and so on.

Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga – Online Co-op

This is one area where we are lacking in information. All that we know is that Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga online co-op isn’t that common in Lego games. Plus, the Family Video Game Database says that the game cannot be played online and co-op is possible only for two players and with local support.

Is Boba Fett in the Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga game?

The Twitter account of Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga has received a load of attention recently due to a new character clip that is being circulated by them. After the release of The Book of Boba Fett, they put out a clip that features Boba Fett. As if that wasn’t surprising in itself, he’s wielding a weapon and he can speak.

To make things more interesting, one Twitter user commented a question that asked if the voice in the clip belonged to Daniel Logan, and Daniel Logan actually replied saying yes. One other possibility is that Daniel Logan will only voice the older version of Boba Fett, though no confirmation of this has been released yet.

Choice of order in Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga

We know that this title includes all the nine films of the Skywalker Saga. But the twist here, as announced by Warner Bros. Games, is that players will have access to all the nine gameplays at once and play them. Implies players will have the power to choose the direction of their game and how they wish to play it.

Be on the dark or light side in Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga

Warner Bros. Games has said that players get to play with ‘hundreds of playable characters from throughout the galaxy and every era of the saga.’ This includes Darth Vader as well as Luke Skywalker. So this means that we can choose which side we want to pledge our allegiance to. At least for the time being.

One more aspect of the game is that there will be a lot more to explore in the game than there ever was. Gamers will have access to locations ‘such as the desert of Geonosis, to the swamps of Dagobah, and the snowfields of Starkiller Base.’ This is in addition to space exploration. Plus, we can revisit a planet whenever we want, so there will be unprecedented freedom in this game.

Well, that’s pretty much all there is to Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga right now. Be sure to check out this awesome game when it releases next month.

We will update you with the new information as soon as it comes out, so keep following Gamevro.
