An internal Xbox meeting is making waves, with the latest report indicating that Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer and Xbox President Sarah Bond spoke to the workforce during the February 6 meeting in response to rumors that first-party titles like Indiana Jones and Starfield will be making their way across several platforms and shared their visions of making “every screen” an Xbox.

Journalist Shannon Liao provided this report, stating that several Microsoft staff members who participated in the virtual Xbox town hall talked to Inverse and revealed, “Bond spoke extensively about Xbox’s strategy of existing on multiple kinds of devices and greater ambitions of becoming the number one cross-platform gaming company.”

Several sources who asked to remain anonymous because they were not permitted to communicate with the media disclosed Bond emphasized during the meeting that “every screen is an Xbox,” and Microsoft displayed pictures of Palworld on tablets, TV displays, monitors, and mobile devices to demonstrate the concept of Xbox on every screen. Moreover, they were surprised to see so much Palworld and even laughed about the possible release of the previously rumored Xbox handheld.

Liao’s previous newsletter also mentioned this meeting, reporting that Spencer had informed staff members Xbox had no intentions of exiting the console business. Although this new report still emphasizes that, it appears that Xbox consoles may become a smaller component of Microsoft’s broader gaming plan.

Having the upper hand on Palworld might give Microsoft and Xbox a competitive edge. However, since those multiplatform speculations (like Starfield on PlayStation 5, and Hi-Fi Rush and Pentiment on Nintendo Switch) began to circulate last week, Xbox’s future as a console platform has been the focus of endless discussion among the gaming community.

Whatever the case, on February 15, Phil Spencer will reportedly share further information with us in an Xbox podcast, and only then can we expect to get confirmed news.
