Elden Ring Patch 1.03 details have been revealed by FormSoftware, which is set to bring several buffs and nerfs to the game.
Elden Ring has come a long way. Not temporally of course. But in its way of capturing the gaming community’s imagination, this action role-playing game published by Bandai Namco Entertainment and developed by FromSoftware has gone a long way.
That is Elden Ring Patch 1.03 in technical terms. And to think it was released just last month. Well, when you see it has been made in collaboration with George R. R. Martin, the famous fantasy novelist and the author of the Game of Thrones series, you expect nothing less.
In many ways (obviously good ways) Elden Ring is similar to previous Soulsborne video games. For example, this game features a plethora of impressive builds and weapons that players could use to get an edge in the competition. These allow Tarnished to kill bosses with ease. Plus, used wisely, they could also lead to many multiplayer PvP (Player vs Player) wins.
This is not to say that Ashes of war and chosen weapons can’t overperform. In fact, this leads to a lot of really unbalanced fights. This Elden Ring Patch 1.03, puts all the emphasis on balancing a lot of popular items. This is in opposition to previous patches which were more concerned about fixing Elden Ring’s performance issues.

But it is still exciting to see what FromSoftware have pulled from their sleeves this time. So read this post to check out new changes brought by Elden Ring Patch 1.03 before you go on creating your next Elden Ring build.

Before continuing, a caveat is needed. The changes that follow are all confirmed by the official Elden Ring 1.03 patch notes. Obviously, a lot of balance checks are going to be performed based on the feedback received. So don’t worry if the first Sorcery, Ash of War, or weapon you are hot about does not turn up in the list.

Elden Ring Patch 1.03 – Ashes of War nerfs
You know how when you cheat on a game, you suddenly lose interest in that game. Well, FromSoftware seems to have taken a leaf from that tree and decided to nerf or reduce, the damages caused by certain Ashes of War.
If you’ve been playing Elden Ring since its release, then you know how powerful the Ashes of War Mimic Tear Ashes and Hoarfrost Stomp can be. In fact, if you have really noticed it, both of these weapons have made defeating the main bosses of the game so much easier. That’s why these have been used a lot by speedrunners.
As can be expected, the majority of the community is disappointed in these Elden Ring Patch 1.03 nerfs. Well, one, both the Ashes of War, Mimic Tear Ash, and Hoarfrost Stomp, are still very much feasible options. Second, if you are looking for other options, there are definitely other options available.
With that being said, take a look at these Elden Ring 1.03 patch nerfs.

Elden Ring Patch 1.03 – weapons nerfs
Going by the official Elden Ring Patch 1.03 notes, there was only one weapon nerf that was implemented, and that was the Sword of Night and Flame. However, the official statement by FromSoftware stated that ‘other enemies and weapon balance changes have been implemented too.
In a PvE (Player vs Environment) setting, one of the very best weapons was the Elden Ring Sword of Night and Flame. The weapon’s truly different and unique skill, Night and Flame Stance, made a joke out of enemies as well as bosses. When this skill was used, a beam of magical energy was unleashed on the enemies. This was done from afar, so in addition to killing the enemies within seconds, it allows for no damage to the player.
Well, seeing this, FromSoftware have decided to reduce the skill damage of this weapon, which had made it less powerful.
And that’s all, folks. All the buffs and nerfs there are in Elden Ring Patch 1.03. Some are exciting, some not so much. Still, we guarantee that none of it will make the game any less enjoyable.
We will update you with the new information as soon as it comes out, so keep following Gamevro.
